Sleepy Pete and the infinite

This is the real me. How often do we look for that person? This is the me that feels the most comfortable in my skin. 11:30 at night, small glass of whiskey, tired but compelled to move on, looking for a glimmer of truth. There it is... oh, nope, just an illusion in my periphery. I love this place, this time.
Hmmm?
I wonder...

  1. Maybe in your world and time, but you are "virtual" to me. You were real yesterday.

Why isn't the "real" you the one who is afraid and trying to change the "truth" because it is on your ass. You see it clearly ready to bite you in the ass. That one who is "compelled" to move on and find some other truth that you are more "comfortable" with.

Aren't they all the real us, "you"? Isn't the truth surrounding us, drowning us? Isn't the truth hidden and we must find it? Isn't anyone who claims to find the truth simply choosing their realty over another's reality? Don't we all have the same reality?

Does the truth even exist in a way we can comprehend it?

I love this place and time as well.

    I wonder with you.

    Your loving brother,

  2. Yes, I have a feeling that there is no truth. That is, there is no single objective comprehensible reality. There is just our perception of things. And since we're all homo sapiens, our perceptions are similar enough that it's easy to convince ourselves that those similarities correspond to some absolute objective truth.

I think what we humans really need is contact with ETI (extra terrestrial intelligence). Maybe that way we can start to see some of the assumptions we all unknowingly make about what reality is, since the aliens would probably have made different assumptions.
